Pictures of Intel Madison hit the web
Inquirer : INTEL SPOKE AT the International Solid State Conference in California last week and did more than that, it seems. The company also posted pictures of the die and other details which some enterprising Japanese journalist has managed to get into print.
Madison, we know, is made on a .13µ process, measures 374mm2 and has 6MB of on die level three cache, compared to the 421mm2 and 3MB of L3 cache of Mr McKinley.
The core, the slides say, runs at 1.5GHz and at 1.3 volts, and is on schedule for a summer release this year.
But there’s also a 9MB version promised in 2004, apparently ???¨C although it will run at the same speed.
There’s also a picture on the same web side of a dual core Montecito, the successor the McKinley-Madison family.
You can find all these lovely pictures and words over at PC Watch
