First of bench mark of the Springdale with DDR400

The Intel Developer forum 2003 is in the full course and we had today the opportunity first of memory bench mark on a system with Intels coming Springdale chip set (i865) with dual Channel DDR400 support to accomplish. As processor a Pentium 4 with 3 GHz and FSB800 was used.

In this connection we raised also Intels new Overclocking features to the course come to let and have the Frontside bus by 4 per cent in relation to the default value of 800 MHz to a clock of 832 MHz. Here the following result resulted:

Already at first sight the result of the Springdale can convince. Our attempt on the issued and on Canterwood system faster for itself bench mark to likewise through-early, failed however because of the safety personnel. If it should permit the time, we will try to lead further tests on the Springdale platform through.

If the results in the very theoretical memory bench mark should be confirmed also in material applications approximately, then the change on dual Channel DDR400 could cause a tidy performance thrust, without having to raise thereby the processor clock actually.
