Installation (New installation)<br />-----------------------------------------<br />Create a mysql database with ALL priviledge. If you don't know how, contact<br />your hosting provider.<br /><br />Extract all files and directories in the zip file to a temporary directory.<br />Open includes/configs.inc.php and enter the mysql info. There are other settings<br />you should also look at, save and exit when you are finished.<br /><br />Upload all the files and folders to your server, keeping the directory<br />structure intact. You should have 5 folders and a bunch of PHP files, like so:<br /><br />data<br /> /settings <-- chmod contents to 0777<br /> /logs <-- chmod to 0777<br />files <--- chmod to 0777<br />includes<br />public <--- chmod to 0777<br />templates<br />.htaccess <--- edit if you want to disable image hotlinking.<br />account.php<br />admin.php<br />.<br />.<br />install.php <-- do not upload this file since you are doing a new installation.<br />update.php <-- do not upload this file since you are doing a new installation.<br />.<br />.<br />usercp.php<br /><br />Run install.php which will try to chmod all the directories and files<br />as well as making sure everything is properly configured. If it fails<br />to chmod, you will have to do so manually.<br /><br />There is a directory called "files" where all user files will go into.<br />If you want to specify a different directory, delete this directory<br />and create another one (on your server) anywhere you like. The installer will ask<br />you for the path to the user files directory regardless, but do this<br />BEFORE running the installer. Remember to use absolute path AND CHMOD <br />THIS DIRECTORY!!!! (0777, 0755, or 0666 will do)<br /><br />Similar to the "files" directory, the "public" directory stores<br />publicly uploaded files. Chmod this directory to 0777 AND copy<br />the contents of data/publicfiles_htaccess.txt to this directory.<br />Rename this file to ".htaccess" without the quotes. Edit this<br />file if you want to disable image hotlinking.<br /><br />Visit my forums (www.celerondude.com/forums/) for further assistance.<br />Remember to search before you post. Upgrade from v6.2<br />-------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />Upload all php files in the root directory (where index.php, admin.php, etc. are located) and the "includes"<br />directory to your server and replace existing ones. Look at the version history below for<br />more specific changes so you'll get a better idea at what to update.<br /><br />If you've customized the templates, look through the list of changed templates<br />and only upload those. If you made any changes to the ones listed, you will<br />probably have to edit them again. If you didn't change any templates, simply<br />overwrite all template files.<br /><br />Tips on upgrading: <br /> 1. Temporary rename the uploader directory, replace the files, and rename it back.<br /> 2. Disable registration before upgrading.<br /> 3. If you can shut down apache, do so before upgrading.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />C. Upgrade from Beta 1<br />-----------------------------------------<br />A converter is available on my website.<br />The converter will only update to version 6.0.
