McAfee Anti-Spyware Enterprise 7.1 & 8.0i

The Anti-Spyware Enterprise Module adds on to the VirusScan Enterprise product to extend its ability to detect and take action on potentially unwanted

spyware and cookies.

Once installed and configured, the module uses the VirusScan Enterprise on-access scanner and on-demand scan tasks in conjunction with the information in the virus definition (DAT) file to detect and take action on spyware and cookies.

Here are some key features of “McAfee Anti Spyware Enterprise”:

· Spyware and cookie definitions have been added to the virus definitions (DAT) file, so no additional DAT file is required.

  · The on-access scanner provides the primary protection against spyware by detecting potentially unwanted spyware in files as they are accessed. You can also specify user-defined detections and exclusions.

  · The on-access scanner does not detect cookies.

· In addition to file scanning, you can configure on-demand scan tasks to:

  – Scan the registry for potentially unwanted spyware-related registry entries that were not previously cleaned.

  – Scan the cookies folder for potentially unwanted cookies.

You can also specify user-defined detections and exclusions.

Scanning can be configured and performed directly from VirusScan Enterprise or managed via ePolicy Orchestrator.

Requirements:

· McAfee VirusScan Enterprise either version 7.1 or 8.0i (8.0i version recommended)
