Nvidia Detonator Drivers 52.13

If you have been snooping around in our forums you might have noticed that Detonator drivers 52.13 have leaked onto the web yesterday and they surely are for real. However, t hese beta drivers are NOT SAFE to use as far as I’m concerned !
As part of our procedure before making a driver life (virus/trojan checking and testing the actual driver) I ran some tests on them with a 5900 Ultra. The minute a Direct3D scene is rendered the active fan will stop spinning. The game then exits with an error-code from NVIDIA ‘Sentinel error – and something with power’.

This bug might be very card specific, it can damage your graphics card. I’ll do some more testing in the next hour to rule out it isn’t a faulty cable or something isolated on our end.

Update : The error is weird and random. It looks like once you’ve had a peek at the control panel and then startup a Direct3D game the fan suddenly stops after a couple of secs. Definitely a bug, I replaced the Molex cable and that was not the cause.

Some reports in our forums from people who are currently testing the driver also state that the issue is very isolated as they do not experience it at all.

Update 2 : Okay after two thousand downloads the past two hours combined with a decent amount of feedback no-one reported the fan issue. So it must be something on our end. Better safe than sorry though and thus check that fan for the time being!

The drivers are everywhere on the Internet already and if you must get them I’d rather tsee that you download them from us opposed to a sleezy IRC, File-Share or vague website. You might as well download them from a trusted source, namely us. As stated before the archive has been virus checked and the driver, as you have been able to read is valid.

So, i f you MUST try them out then go here. Whatever you do, you do it at your own risk , don’t go complain to NVIDIA or us if things go wrong ! You have been warned. We have a forum thread running open for these drivers. Please make sure you post/read experiences in there.
