I found some more details about AMD’s upcoming Hammer processor at german site Planet3Dnow :
The transition from the K7 to K8 will take place in the first half of 2003 (first supplies in H01, mass supplies in H02)
K7 (FSB- and L2 Cache-development)
K7 AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (Barton Core) needs new specs regarding cooling (therm. resistance < 0.60 ???????£C/W)
K8 roadmap:
Furthermore AMD seems to be planning to bump the front side bus to 400MHz (200MHz DDR). The JEDEC will play an important role here since it is no ensured yet, that DDR400 will be integrated into the DDR-1 specs.
