Cabspace.com - The free beginning to something bigger...

For those of you wanting a free host with no ads, and 30GB bandwidth/mo... I would like to offer CabSpace.com.  It gies you an online file manager, FTP access, subdomain URL, and also free phpBB forums!  <br /><br />MY EXPLANATION: <br />How do we provide this service ongoing, with no ads on user pages?  <br />We have a larger dream.  We want to provide you with all the tools needed to be an online success.  We want you to get hits, we want you to get bookmark traffic, we want you to show the world what you can do!   Maybe you need a place to show off pictures you took at a festival last year, or a song you recorded with your friends, or a video you made for school.  Maybe your online game clan needs a place to meet up online, upload screen shots, and schedule what's going on.  Maybe your dad doesn't know a thing about the web, but has big dreams, and needs a free place to start and learn.  This is why CabSpace.com exists. <br /><br />If you are just going to use the disk space as a file storage area for a bunch of copyrighted songs or warez files, or for some Nigerian phishing scam, we will nuke your account in a heartbeat.  Those are illegal uses, they aren't productive, they take away from our legitimate users, and they just cause us additional work for a service we're providing for free.  We want people that see the big picture, and are just looking for a place to get started.  <br /><br />Why do we continue to offer this? <br />Because we were there.  We know it's a long road getting something from your mind into reality, especially with limited means.  So for the last 10 years we've been working to provide all the tools needed to take something from entry level to enterprise level.  <br /><br />Have we seen it work?  Yes.  <br /><br />How?  <br />An inspired individual starts a free site, gains interest from other individuals, and starts to build traffic.  They add as many features and applications to a free site as they can, and continue to improve it, but eventually they max out.  The problem with someone who has only been hosted on free hosts, is that they have no idea of the power and freedom available to them on a real web host.  So eventually we work them onto an entry level paid account on ValueNOC.com.  A $10 domain, and 3 dollars a month...10 cents a day or something like that.  But all of the sudden their life get's easier!  Not only do they get a domain name, and emails on that domain, but they get gigabytes of space, additional FTP accounts, autoresponders, server side includes, raw apache logs, customizable error pages, etc!  The next step up is the $5/mo account. And then? It's on.  PHP, MySQL, cgi, and cron jobs.  You can run about any dream script you've seen on a $5 account. <br /><br />From there on, the sky is the limit.  Once you're running scripts, online businesses form.  Maybe you start your own freehost, or pay host, or just help us resell services.  We have people doing all of the above.  Maybe you want to do web design, run game servers, or host your own team speak server.  However it works out, this is the &quot;how&quot; and &quot;why&quot; behind us providing this service. <br /><br />If you're still reading this, thanks.
