Quick Installation Steps
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once having downloaded the archive from the downloads page, follow these steps
to get the dating software running:
1. Extract the files from within the package into the root directory or subfolder
of your site.
unzip InstallSite5.0.zip
use your favourite graphical application to extract the files, such as
WinZip ([翌朦觐 玎疱汨耱痂痤忄眄 镱朦珙忄蝈腓 祛泱?忤溴螯 耨觇.])

2. This installs the program files into the directory and creates the following
sub-directories
/affiliates # if this module has been purchased
/documentation # administrator document
/help # help files
/images # template images
/languages # language files
/messenger # instant messenger
Create the following additional directories and give full web user permissions
CHMOD(777) or Windows equivelant
/members # stores members pictures
/videos # stores members video files
/thumbs # stores thumbed images
** Note: If these directories are not given correct permissions, the users will be
unable to upload media files.
3. Create a new MySQL database and give it any name you prefer. Using the script
provided in the root directory (installsite5.sql) create the tables required for the software.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Configuring your software
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Configuration falls into two categories:
---------------------------------
System configuration.
---------------------------------
1. Open the file db_connect.php in a text editor such as TextPad 4 ([翌朦觐 玎疱汨耱痂痤忄眄 镱朦珙忄蝈腓 祛泱?忤溴螯 耨觇.])
and enter the database connection string, username and password - plus the name
of the database created in step 1.3 above.
2. Next enter values for all the $CONST_ variables
Two important ones are these:
$CONST_INCLUDE_ROOT = "";
$CONST_LINK_ROOT = '';
To find the INCLUDE_ROOT value run the program settings.php in the root directory.
This will display the PHP setting and at the top of the page is a string for the root path,
cut-and-paste this value into the $CONST_INCLUDE_ROOT field.
The $CONST_LINK_ROOT should be the full URL of your site without a "/" at the end and
** Note: The $CONST_ values are used as defaults throught the site. It is important that
they are correct.
3. When a site has been newly installed from the zip, it is necessary to resave the template HTML
in the database. To do this:
a) from the home page, click login
b) enter the username and password manager/password
c) this takes you to the home page
d) click the link "Admin Control Panel" and on the next page:
e) click "Templates" then at the bottom of the template page:
f) click "Update Now" for each template type (select from the dropdown)
---------------------------------
Software configuration
---------------------------------
4. The final stage of configuration is as follows:

a) login to the admin control panel (see 3a - 3d above)
b) click "Set Parameters" and in the next screen:
c) enter whether you wish to authorise ads automatically
d) add the prices that apply to the premium memberships
e) add the maximum file size for photos
f) click "Update Now"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Adding languages
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Language files are located in the /languages directory. The system is installed with English and Russian.
To add a new language to the system you must have the correct language translation.
Certain languages are ready to be added to the system even though no translation exists. This is
because, we have tried to provide a framework for adding those languages. If the language you
wish to install does not appear on the list then please contact us at [email protected]
and we will arrange to edit your system to make it ready for that language.
** Note: If you enable a langauge on the system that has not been fully installed the template will not be
displayed correctly and a user may experience difficulties. Only enable a language when all files are
in place.
To add a new language:
1. Translate the english.php and big_text_english.php files into the chosen language and add it to the
languages directory. Only translate the values NOT the whole file.
** For example define("GENDER_M","Man"); becomes define("GENDER_M","Kille"); in Swedish.
2. In the images directory for that language, add the template images (all images) with those that
contain words translated. The english template images are contained in /images/EN/. For language
codes, please refer to the table at the end of this section.
3. Login in to the administration control panel (see 3a - 3d above) and tick the selected language and click "Save"
** Note: If only one language is available, this will be the default language and no language selection
flag images are displayed.
** If you prefer, you can leave the big_text_english.php in english but make it available to the other languages
by renaming the file big_text_russian.php or whatever corresponds to the languages you are making available.

怙痂眦栾?祛泱 ?襦?耜痂矧 恹沭箸栩?... 羼腓 觐祗 桧蝈疱耥?....恹沭箸?镫桤... |
